CMA takes part in 10th Meeting of the GCC Heads of Securities Commissions

The Sultanate represented by the Capital Market Authority participated in the 10th meeting of the Committee of  the Presidents of GCC Securities Commissions, which  is a sub- committee of the Ministerial Committee of the Chairpersons of Securities Commission, which   was held in Kuwait yesterday.

 

 The Sultanate’s delegation was chaired by EH Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of CMA and the membership of Ahmed Sulaiman Al Qasabi, Acting Director General of Issues and Disclosure  and Mohammed Saif Al Rashdi, Director of Legal Affairs.

 

The meeting discussed the standard rules for integration of the GCC stock markets which were approved by the Supreme Council in its 34th  session held in December 2013, and the outcome of the meetings of the teams working on integration of stock markets in the GCC, the reports on the application of  the standard securities disclosure rules, standard corporate governance principles and follow up of the  standard rules for issuance of shares in GCC stock markets.

 

 

The meeting also reviewed the recommendations of the meetings of the work team on the supervision and regulation of  GCC stock markets as well as the proposal of the Secretariat General on the work strategies of the Committee and the methods for achieving integration of GCC stock markets in addition to  other topics relating to development of cooperation among GCC securities commissions and improving the performance.
