CMA organizes a training programme on “Technical Analysis”

H.E. the Executive President of CMA confirmed that brokerage companies are considered a link between the investors and the stock market, as they manage direct interaction with all segments of the community to assist it in the identification of investment opportunities offered by dealing the securities market. These companies provide information and clarify risks associated with the investment process in the securities field to enable investors to take appropriate decisions. He explained that this role is one of the main conditions that must be met to achieve efficiency and durability in a capital market.

This was within the opening of the training programme titled “Technical Analysis” organized by CMA in cooperation with the General Secretary of Union of Arab Securities Authorities during the period from 19th- 20th October, 2014. The progrmme aims to introduce the working force in the securities field to the tools and elements, and methods of technical analysis and its relation to making investment decisions. Technical analysis is considered of the crucial principles that receive significant concern from the capital market institutions.

H.E Al Salmi added in his speech that the investor in the capital market of whatever potentials or culture is in need for specialized assistance of brokerage companies to advice on the market values of traded securities. So if brokerage service is limited to receive and deliver orders and lacks information for comparison, it will affect the investment base negatively and cause risk to the investment operation.

From the other side Al Salmi explained that CMA’s concern to train operators in the securities field is an important and central responsibility of these bodies to enable the capital market to perform its role in serving the national economy and to achieve fairness and proficiency in the capital market which preserve market stability and promote trust.    

It is worth to mention that the programme targets brokers, financial analysts of brokerage companies, investment companies, funds and local investment banks. Some experiences and practical practices in this regard will be discussed in the programme. The subjects include the public’s phycology, diagram form, diagram types, support, resistance, and reflection law.
