CMA Organize Training for new employees

The Capital Market Authority has organized the first training  programme of a series of training programmes on the capital market and insurance sector in collaboration with Muscat Securities Market and Muscat Clearing and Depository Copmany for new employees of CMA, MSM and MCDC to acquaint them with the role and importance of the capital market and insurance sector in addition to certain  economic and  legislative concepts.

 

 

Jokhah Abdullah Al Hanaei, Director of Human Resources Department said the programme was organized for the importance CMA attaches to the development of human resources, enhance their skills and  knowledge to perform their duties and responsibilities.

 

 

She added, the programmes was designed to introduce to the new employees CMA’s vision an message  as regulator of the capital market and insurance and that the financial services will be sustainable mover of the economy and wealth creation.

 

She added that not less than 60 employees of CMA, MSM and MCDC participated in the training which contained the works  of the directorates and departments, the laws governing  the capital market and insurance and the supervision process

 

 

Jokhah Al Hanaei said the present programme is the first in a series which will be organized during this year. This programme is for the employees of support departments.

 

 

 

The programmes includes the development process of the stock exchange in Oman since the establishment of MSM and then the Royal Decree which established CMA, the separation of the  regulatory and executive functions, broad lines of the Capital Market Law, simulation system of MSM, the clearance and depository function, the role of the companies operating in securities beside an introduction to corporate governance and wise management, the creation of Oman Centre for Corporate Governance and Sustainability and  stock markets indices. On the insurance sector the programme papers covered the structure of  insurance sector in Oman, motor insurance and other insurance products and broad lines on insurance law.

 

The papers were presented by professional in the capital market and  insurance from CMA, MSM and MCDC.
