CMA Participates in the Annual Meeting of Arab Stock Exchanges

 

The Capital Market Authority will take part in the annual meeting of Arab Federation of Stock Exchanges to be organized by Arab Federation of Stock Exchanges in collaboration with  Amman Stock Exchange in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

 

CMA will be represented by Khalfan Mohammed Al Sharji, Director General of Capital Markets Institutions.

 

The annual meeting of the Arab Federation of Stock Exchanges is one of the key international and  regional events and an opportunity to  exchange views and expertise as  a platform for knowledge exchange and transfer of best practices in the field of stock exchanges .

 

The event, which will be attended by more the 30 speakers from the different countries of the world and the International Federation of Stock Exchanges in addition to regional speaker,  will discuss a number of  issues relating to the stock exchanges such as capital creation, economic growth and classification and evaluation of financial markets in the Arab region as well as the role of media in the stock exchanges industry.

 

It is noteworthy that there are  36 licensed companies in the field of securities including  nine licensed banks to carry out various  activities , twenty companies carrying out brokerage business  and 16 companies carrying out activities other than the brokerage.  32 are local companies and 4 are foreign. Omanization ratio is 55% with 209 Omani employees out of 380.
