CMA Organize Specialized Programme for Insurance Agents

 

Al Rashdi: Insurance Agents Regulation Emphasize on Omanization

 

 

The Capital Market Authority is organizing the 12th training programme for the employees of insurance agents to acquaint them with the skills required for marketing insurance products with the participation of  27 insurance agents at the Radisson Blue Hotel Muscat.

 

On the importance of the prgramme Rashid Mohammed Al Rashdi, Director of Requirements and Licensing Department of CMA said the programmes comes within the  attention CMA attaches to enabling the Omani youth  in insurance companies, brokers and agents in administrative and technical positions at the various levels through promoting their abilities and skills to upgrade  this vital sector.

 

He added CMA has conducted, since the beginning of the years, about 12 training programmes  relating to insurance such as accounting, claims, underwriting, risk management as well as leadership skills with the participation of more than 340 employees working for insurance companies, brokers and agents.

 

He added the agent’s programme is response to the Insurance Agent’s Regulation which leads the sector toward Omanization of the agent’s profession for added value for the industry and the national economy to achieve the required partnership with the private sector who is able to accommodate the national cadres.

 

The programme includes specific aspects such as introduction to risk management and the role of insurance in protecting  from the potential risks  through insurance and Takaful in addition to international  insurance principles, insurance products and the realities of the insurance market and legislative environment especially in respect to motor insurance.

 

The training focuses on  the Regulation, the  insurance agent’s contract, role and obligations, customer service and the Code of Conduct for Insurance Sector.
