The Sultanate Participates in 16th  Meeting of  GCC Securities Commissions Presidents’ Committee 

 

The Sultanate of Oman represented by the Capital Market Authority participated in the 16th meeting of the Committee of the  Presidents of GCC securities commissions on Thursday 27, April  2017 in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.

 

The Sultanate’s delegation was chaired by HE Sheikh Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of CMA and membership of Ahmed Sahel Al Marhoon, Director General of Muscat Securities Market and Ahmed  Ali Al Makhaini, Expert at the Officer of the Executive President.

 

The meeting discussed the key issues and development in the region and reviewed  the minutes of the work teams and their recommendations including  review of the memorandum of the Secretariat General on the  first and second meetings of the Supervisory Committee of the Strategic Study for the Integration of Stock Markets in the GCC as well as discussion of the minutes of the thirteenth meeting of the Supervision and Regulation  Work Team and the recommendations of the team on the  GCC regulatory commissions’ policy on the SMART system.

 

 

A joint meeting of the presidents of securities commission and presidents of stock markets was held on the sidelines of the meeting and discussed a number of issues including unification of trading hours in GCC stock markets.
