The Sultanate is preparing for the 12th Middle East Conference for Health Insurance

 

Capital Market Authority is preparing for the 12th Middle East Conference for Health Insurance with a wide international participation. The Conference is hosted for the second consecutive during the period from 24-25 September. The opening ceremony of the conference is under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ali Masoud Al-Sinidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry.

Hosting this conference comes in the light of the development of the health insurance products, which witnessed a remarkable growth during the past five years. The average growth of it reached 26%; in addition to this, the share of the health insurance acquires 30% of total insurance premiums. Moreover, this conference coincides with the preparations in the Sultanate to apply health insurance in the private sector and for visitors.

This conference aims to highlight health insurance and its benefits, and to review regional and international experience in this field. It also seeks to introduce future visions towards best application for this type of insurance. Additionally, the conference aims to promote awareness and knowledge of the policyholders’ rights in order to provide high-quality health services.

Hosting this international conference organized by the Middle East Insurance Review is considered a great opportunity to learn and benefit from the international and regional experiences on the regulation of health insurance market, which now represents one of the means to provide appropriate health care and thus the ability to upgrade the quality of services.

The Conference is attended by wide international participation from operators and interested entities in developing health services and insurance and reinsurance companies. The conference will present a number of papers discussing regulative issues related to providing health care services and medical insurance in Middle East, besides papers on international medical trends, technology influence on health sector, role of national health insurance in achieving comprehensive health cover, and innovations in providing health care. A number of some countries’ experiences in this field will also be presented.
