CMA publish insurance prices for commercial vehicle

10 March 2014

To assist the public and those who are dealing with insurance companies to know the competitive prices offered by insurers, the Capital Market Authority publishes a table of prices of insurance premiums for the insurance of commercial vehicles of special use  such as taxis, driving teaching cars,  gas transport vehicles and drinking water tankers. The objective of publishing the prices is to ease selection of services and prices available in the market which would enhance competition among insurers based on supply and demand.

The Capital Market Authority urges  the owners of  commercial vehicles of special use to benefit from the competition in the Omani market as there are many competing companies  carrying out general insurance business. CMA has issued Circular No. 6/2012 to all insurers  obligating them to insure all types of vehicles and to have a minimum limit of such vehicles in their portfolios.
